2009 Opening Films
2008 Opening Event
By all measures, our Opening Night was very successful.  The Gala dinner was sold out as were the two theaters screening the opening film, NOODLEPhotographer Bob Brussack captured the crowd and their enthusiasm.  To see the photographs and order your prints, please click HERE.

The Sunday morning rain did not deter nearly one hundred children and their parents from participaing in the children's activities and the morning screenings of The Year My Parents Went on Vacation and  Arranged.

The noon break brought us a surprise:  the worst snow storm that Athens, Georgia has seen in decades!  The snow did not deter a good audience for the afternoon screenings of A Secret and Nobody's Business.  The latter with introduction and discussion by guest historian, Deborah Dash Moore.

The shorts program continued the exploration of the theme of Identity.  Filmmaker Ari Mark discussed the making and meaning of his film, The Metamorphosis.  Rabbi Michoel Refson was on hand to answer questions on the meaning of Koshering.

Although one of our guests, historian Jeff Lesser was unable to join us, the 4:30 and 4:45 screenings went on without problems.  We only cancelled the Festival before the 7PM screenings at the request of a very wise Cine' manager.  When we went outside, we saw why she was worried.
